Like everything, getting a good night’s sleep requires practise too!
Everyone is aware of how many hours of sleep they should be getting, however, that may be easier said than done. Here are a few tips we’ve compiled for you to achieve a better snooze:
1. Set an alarm to go to bed
As weird as this may sound, this could be the trick for you to get more regular, quality sleep. Having a bedtime routine and sticking to it is just as essential as ensuring you mattress fits the bill.
2. Exercise your way to sleep
People who exercise regularly have been reported to get the best sleep, based on a survey done by the National Sleep Foundation. One of the many reasons why exercise induces better sleep is because it reduces your stress level and tires you out. This in turn triggers sleepiness.
3. Power down
Turn off all devices at least an hour before your bedtime – smart phones, laptops, tablets, etc. Staring into the blue-and-white light given off from your screen’s devices is equivalent to staring directly into the sun and has the potential in preventing our brain from producing melatonin, also known as the sleep hormone.
